What makes a complete music artiste? I bet some of you would say it is the ability to sing or perform on stage but we beg to differ.There a lot more to the music artiste than putting out hit songs.
There’s what we call imagery – this is how the artiste carries and projects him/herself so as to be received by the fans. The corporate people will call this branding but Naija people call it “packaging”.
Having fashion being an integral part of the artiste image, we profile 10 Nigerian musicians who are power dressers. These set of artistes impress us with their great sense of style any time we see them whether in music videos, at shows or even on the red carpet.
Of course everyone has his or her own style but these ones make us fall in love with them all over again each time they make a new appearance.

10. Praiz
Born Praise Adejo, this X3M Music artiste has been described as Nigeria’s John Legend because of his velvety smooth voice companioned with natural good looks. He is mostly styled in Mai Atafo custom suits and even a casual outfit really looks good on him.
9. Tiwa Savage
Mavin first lady and Rocknation star, Tiwa Savage is often seen as a fashionista with numerous online acclaims. She has been making bold fashion moves since the beginning of 2016 and it looks like Tiwa is not even ready to slow down for anyone. The safe styling phase has been left behind and Tiwa is making statements with more daring outfits that somehow comes off as offensive to the conservatives. Some of her favourite fashion labels include Bridget Awosika, Rosie Assoulin, Stella McCartney and Self Portrait.
8. Patoranking
Not only has his music grown, his sense of style has grown as well. From the rough looking Ghetto boy with dyed brown hair to the sleek dapper looking, well groomed and very sexy young man, Patoranking’s transformation has been very amazing.

7. Banky W
Banky W is Nigeria’s Mr Sexy. “Mr W” like he loves to call himself, Banky is usually spotted in 3 piece suits complete with pocket square, bowler hats and stylish grandpa Oxford brogues.
6. 9ice
Known more for music than his dress style, if you look closely, you’ll observe 9ice has got a very great sense of fashion. His clean haircuts and signature aviator glasses also complement his looks every time.
5. Adekunle Gold
Adekunle is not out there to dress or look like anyone. He’s got his own style and mostly wears what makes him comfortable. Whether he’s performing in Lagos with complete Yoruba attire with his fila abe eti aja (translated as dog eared cap) or chilling in regular street wear in faraway Atlanta, this king of photoshop is gradually becoming the king of fashion.
4. Tekno
This is not a musical chart and Tekno does not make this list because of his ability to churn out hit song after hit song. Rather it’s for his clean looks and his very smart dress sense. Checkout his photos. Which one doesn’t look cool?
3. Timaya
Egberipapa!Timaya has stepped up to a style that matches how the name sounds. His heavily bearded look marked with a very confident poise in colourful attires makes him a topic on most fashion blogs and magazines. Timaya loves his sandals and hand carry bags, two important accessories that go very well with his new boss personae.
2. Darey Art Alade
Darey is good looking and we know it. He has always been referred to as a style icon. One thing about Darey is his ability to dress perfectly for the event be it the red carpet, concerts or his performance at his annual show love like a movie.
1. D’Banj
Would this list be complete without him? Bangalee, Ejanla, koko master. Even though Dbanj is struggling in the music department, his sense of style has always been on point. D’banj has been described as a sex icon. His suits have the perfect cut and the shoes are out of this world. D’Banj knows how to combine colours and prints. His stylist is really doing a good job.
