The year is gradually coming to a close, artistes are preparing for the December festivities and for sure, #Olamide is probably ready to drop an album.
His 9th project. For sure that’s the most for a Nigerian artiste.

And if we’re being sincere with ourselves, there has been a decline in the quality of these albums in recent years. His last personal album, “Lagos Nawa” probably ranks high as one of Baddo’s worst performing projects ever.

Same with the album before it, The Glory which dropped 2016.
And there’s every indication there would be an album from Olamide this year.

That’s where the problem lies.

Should Olamide drop an album?

Based on the strength of his output this year, all answers point to know. Olamide has been really experimental this year. I don’t know if rappers use songwriters, but Olamide and most importantly, Wizkid should employ one.

Poor lyrical content and delivery has been the bane of Olamide in recent years. What has been working for Olamide has been the supply of the “Street Gbedu” which he tried to do on “Oil and Gas” and regrettably, that didn’t work.

His releases this year have been deficient in terms of hit weight quality. Every year, Olamide comes close with two to three hit.

So far this year, does Olamide possess a valid hit single?

Songs like Woske, Spirit, Pawon all belong to the category of releases that have struggled to gain attention and relevance.
