Nigerian singer Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, better known as Brymo, has taken to social media to state that his album, Yellow is the best of the year 2020.
He added that other albums are simply hyped and not really as good.

Taking to Twitter moments back, in the heels of Davido’s release of ‘A Better Time’ album, Brymo posted the cryptic message many have seen as a sub of the DMW boss.

According to him, Yellow is the best album to come out of Africa in the year 2020.

We’ve acknowledged at least eight albums from top artistes this year which such are “Twice As Tall” by Burna Boy, “Apollo” from Fireboy, Olamide’s Carpe Diem, Afro Pop Vol. 1 by Adekunle Gold, “Made In Lagos” by Wizkid and many more.

He went on to indict those talking about other top albums, claiming they are doing it cause of their pockets.

He wrote;

“No album, not one compares to “Yellow” on the continent this year… Maybe you should start separating “most hyped album” from “best album”….

Yellow is the best album out of africa in 2020, others are most hyped!!

Folks have been talking about Yellow for months, stop pretending to forget because small money don enter una pockets… talking about “underrated”.. it is not, you just say that to promote your half-backed albums.”

Nigerian singer, Olawale Oloforo Ashimi, professionally known as #Brymo, has explained his silence on the trending End SARS movement that had many celebrities actively involved in the protests.
The musician had taken to his Twitter page to talk about greatness in Nigeria. He was then shut by a Twitter user who feels he did not speak up when it was necessary.

“You stayed quiet when we needed all the voices….Remain that way”

Brymo then replied:

“I will”

A curious fan was, however, interested in the singer’s silence.

“My only question is why“, the fan tweeted back.

To which Brymo’s reply reads:

“…cos most don’t truly care…. everyone is Just trying to eat. I care, I have for years, no one wants to join me in the campaign for ‘building the nation we want to see’ … everyone wants to blame someone else…and I had been talking for a minute.”

Nigerian singer, Olawale Olofooro, popularly known as #Brymo, has opened up on his possible plans to leave the country Nigeria.
He made the statement while lamenting on the lack of support given to local artists.

The musician is of the view that Nigerians are promoting brain-drain in the music industry by waiting for the West to accept an artist before showing support to the artist.

He also adds that he will eventually flee the country.

#Brymo slammed a Twitter user who said that he doesn’t deserve his fans.
Brymo went ballistic on people who leveled rape accusations against him recently but he didn’t help matters after he tweeted his thoughts on the current trending rape cases. As a result, a popular blogger slammed him publicly saying men should learn how not to be like him.

Brymo in response sent a cuss word at the blogger. When someone suggested that Brymo should sue the blogger as a scapegoat, Brymo laughed it off. Another Twitter user in response said Brymo doesn’t deserve his fans.

Brymo who said this in reaction to rape allegations tabled against him seemed to be angered by the outrageous allegations and accusations.

#Brymo Turns 34 Today
Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ (born Olawale Ashimi; 9 May 1986), better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and author.

He started recording music in 1999 while in secondary school.

He signed a record deal with Chocolate City in 2010 but was accused of breaching his contract with the label in 2013.

Brymo released his debut studio album Brymstone, in 2007.

His second studio album The Son of a Kapenta was released in 2012; it was supported by three singles; “Ara”, “Good Morning” and “Go Hard”.

His third studio album Merchants, Dealers & Slaves was released on 20 October 2013; it received positive reviews from music critics and was preceded by two singles; “Down” and “Eko”.

In October 2014, Brymo released his fourth studio album Tabula Rasa; its lead single “Fe Mi” was described as a “soft traditional ballad”.

On 8 December 2015, Brymo released an eight-track compilation album titled Trance.

He signed an international distribution deal with Tate Music Group in 2015.

Brymo released his fifth studio album Klĭtôrĭs on 9 May 2016. It comprises 11 tracks and was preceded by the lead single “Happy Memories”.

In March 2018, Brymo released his critically acclaimed sixth studio album Oṣó.

Six months later, he released the self-referential fictional novel Oriri’s Plight.

Brymo teamed up with three members of Skata Vibration to form A.A.A, an alternative rock band whose eponymous debut EP was released in August 2019.

Brymo’s seventh studio album Yellow was released on 1 April 2020.

After the release of #Brymo‘s 7th studio album, “Yellow”, Afro-soul has been in fore-front of discussion among fans in the music industry.

But unfortunately, the industry prefers to give attention to songs that can only offer dance values. This is not to say, there no music lovers who are fan of Brymo‘s alternative sound but the question is how many are they?

If Nigerian music lovers support Brymo as much as they appreciate his music, maybe he would have been a Grammy winner by now.

If Olamide can grow this big in the music industry, I wonder why Qdot is still taking the back seat like “student wey no no book”.

This is another grossly underrated singer in the music industry. He’s got amazing vocals and he is lyrically blessed.

After making a huge debut into the music industry with smash hit single titled “Akube” and following it up with other mad jams, one would have thought he will be sitting comfortably in the B-list category of artistes in the music industry.

It’s quite suprising that he is still far behind!!

5. Kizz Daniel


From his days at G-worldwide till now, Kizz Daniel has always been on top of his game, it is only normal that he is competiting on the same level with Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy now instead of being far behind them.

If not for his exit from Mavin Records, maybe Reekado Banks will probably be ahead of Mayorkun and Kizz Daniel right now.

It is crystal clear that Reekado Banks who is now a boss of his own is suffering from talent management issue. Only if Reekado Banks can get the same career management treatment like he got in Mavin, he might probably be a bigger artiste now.
